Come Adore Him

In collaboration with the Interfaith Broadcasting Commission, “Come Adore Him” is the national  NBC Television Christmas Special that will be aired on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, on NBC Television affiliates across the United States. The special will air at 5 a.m. in the DFW area on KXAS, Channel 5.

Jonathan McReynolds

What was born in his dorm room in the presence of a few friends has graduated to Christian music’s biggest stage. And Jonathan, now 32, did it with an incredible voice and a beautifully honest approach to songwriting. His EP ​​"People" debuted at #1 and has been called the believers' soundtrack of a crazy 2020. After earning three Stellars, it's single "Grace" became a record fourth #1 Billboard airplay single in a row and "Movin' On" featuring Mali Music garnered his first Grammy win and fourth nomination. Always endeavoring to provide excitement for the genre, he and Mali released a live joint EP "Jonny X Mali: Live in LA" and buzzworthy tour in the second half of 2021.

His latest full-length album Make Room debuted #1 on Billboard Gospel. It has been hailed as a generational work, earning eight Stellars and two Grammy nominations. The title track "Make Room" and hit single "Not Lucky, I'm Loved" from this album, gave Jonathan his first two #1 songs on Billboard. His second album Life Music: Stage Two features another superstar fan in India.Arie and remained #1 on the Billboard Gospel chart for 4 weeks.​

Naomi Raine

At the age of 2, Naomi Raine sang in her first concert and by the age of 7, she had already written her first song. Since that time, Naomi has taken the gifts and talents that God has given her and uses them to bring God glory wherever she goes. Born in New York on April 9 to Lawrence and Marissa Felder, Naomi carried the torch passed down by her parents to spread the gospel through song. Her desire to see the body of Christ united and empowered fuels her drive to make music that inspires others to worship God.

Naomi has featured on countless projects with some of the most acclaimed artists in Christian music such as, Todd Dulaney, JJ Hairston, Bethel Music, Jonathan and Melissa Helser, and Israel Houghton, to name a few.

One of Naomi’s joys is singing with her newfound family, Maverick City Music, who has taken the world by storm over the past few years. Together, they have touched generations of people and have been widely recognized as artists who are leading the masses to the heart of God. As a part of Maverick City Music, Naomi has earned multiple awards including, Billboard Music Awards, Dove Awards, Stellar Awards, and is now a Grammy Award winning artist. She is featured on songs such as “Story I’ll Tell,” and the award-nominated “Jireh,” and “Promises.” Naomi had the pleasure of making her film debut in “Christmas with The Chosen” with Maverick City Music.

When she isn’t busy being a secret chef, she’s serving as a Worship Pastor at Fresh Start Christian Center in Mount Vernon, NY and nurturing the gifts in others through her indie record label, The Bridge Collective.

Gale Murphy

Gale Murphy, a native of Memphis, Tennessee, is a former music educator at Forest Lake Adventist Academy. Having earned accolades in music education circles as a skilled teacher of piano, choral conducting, and vocal pedagogy, Gale, now holds the position of Director of Music and Education for the Negro Spiritual Scholarship Foundation of Orlando.

Gale is also the appointed pianist and clinician at the famed Hampton's Minister's Conference/Choir Directors and Organists Guild, held each summer in Hampton, Virginia. Gale has written more than four hundred and fifty compositions and has a large body of art and recital song arrangements to her credit as well.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Gale began playing the piano at age 3 and was a designated church pianist at age 5. Gale grew up in Memphis and earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree in both piano and voice, from Southern Adventist University. She of late, has obtained a Master of Music in Piano Performance degree from Memphis State University.

Southwestern Adventist University Singers

The University Singers have performed throughout the United States, with tours in Texas, Arkansas, New Mexico, Colorado, Vermont, Massachusetts, New York, Maryland and Washington D.C. Internationally, the University Singers have been routinely featured in top concert series and venues throughout Austria, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Italy, Switzerland, South Korea, Canada, Germany, France, Netherlands, Puerto Rico, Spain and Portugal.

While on tour, the Singers have been featured performers and guests of the:

  • American Spring Festival (Prague, Czech Republic)
  • 20th Anniversary of U.S. and Slovakian Diplomatic Relations (Bratislava, Slovakia)
  • U.S. Senate Bible Study (Washington D.C.)
  • Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (Denver, Colorado)
  • U.S. Ambassador Theodore Sedgwick, Rear Admiral Barry Black and NAD President Dan Jackson

During the spring of 2014, the University Singers were featured in the guest choir concert series at the Basilique Notre-Dame in Montréal, Canada, and in the guest choir recital series at Saint Patrick's Cathedral in New York City, two of the most prestigious venues in North America.

In 2015, the University Singers were privileged to work with award-winning Latvian composer Ēriks Ešenvalds, who led a clinic to prepare the Singers for the performance of five of his compositions. His works were performed at St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Plano together with Leonard Bernstein's Chichester Psalms. In 2016, the group traveled to South Korea presenting 15 concerts in school, concert hall and church venues throughout the country.

Children’s Mass Choir

The 400-voice Children’s Choir will be composed of elementary children from the Seventh-day Adventist schools in the Dallas, Ft. Worth, and Keene, TX area, along with children from the Inspiring Body of Christ Church.

Dr. Carlton P. Byrd

Dr. Carlton P. Byrd is the president of the Southwest Region Conference of Seventh-day Adventists with headquarters in Dallas, TX.  This responsibility gives Dr. Byrd oversight for the churches, schools, and workers of the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church in the five-state regional territory of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

A much sought after speaker and evangelist, prior to becoming the  president of the Southwest Region Conference, Dr. Byrd served as the Speaker/Director for the television broadcast, Breath of Life, from 2010-2021, which is shown on three international television stations, and one national television station.  During his tenure at Breath of Life, nearly 20,000 persons were baptized, four churches planted, and six national holiday television specials produced.

The recipient of numerous honors and achievements, Dr. Byrd is also the author of three books, and has served as a columnist for Message Magazine.  

Dr. Byrd is happily married to his wife of twenty-four years, the former Danielle Mounter, and they are the proud parents of three daughters, Christyn, Caileigh, and Carissa.
